Fingerless Mittens by OCD
Fingerless Mittens by OCD
DESCRIPTION
These fingerless mittens are hand-knit by Kelly and her ADHD (mostly). They are made of super soft and bulky yarn in lovely tweed colors, and are 97% acrylic. Each pair of mittens is made with no fingers, allowing those fabulous fingers of yours to have all the freedom that they deserve! Hold and/or text from your phone, type away on that keyboard, open all those doors with the round door knobs…go ahead and light that cigarette! Your digits are finally free.
Note: This pair of mittens is homemade, making them completely unique and one-of-a-kind (or are they TWO-of-a-kind?).
MATERIAL
97% Acrylic and 3% Viscose.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Machine wash warm, tumble dry low. Non-chlorine bleach when needed. Do not iron.
TO ANY OF MY MENTALLY ILL FRIENDS OUT THERE
I have found that if life is getting super chaotic, knitting seems to be an activity that helps “ground” me. However reality is that I’m a parent of two, I have a full-time job, and when I’m not trying to make a dent in the mountain of dirty laundry, I spend my spare time in short interval form. Knitting these mittens on my knitting loom allows me to pick up my hobby at any time of the day, while simultaneously allowing me to put it back down with a moment’s notice. And BONUS! With every mitten I make, I get that fabulous “I just finished this mini-project and now I get to work on another!” warm, tingly feeling inside.
I have often wondered how/why my ADHD increased so much over the years. But I’m starting to think that I finally have it figured out!! As it turns out, anyone who has ADHD and then has KIDS(?!?!)…you are my people. You are also screwed. I can officially confirm that kids are easily able to increase anyone’s ADHD by exponential values.
But hey! “Thanks to My Crazy,” someone out there is getting some amazeballs mittens this winter. You’re welcome.
Now let’s all say it together, “SELF-CARE IS NOT SELFISH.”
